About Antalis Print

Our PRINT Sector offer a comprehensive range of coated, uncoated andcarbonlesspapers, as well as fines, text andcovers, along with envelopes and packaging boards to meet the needs of printers, graphic designers,publishers andcommunication agencies. We are committed to working with mills that have FSC accreditations which means our products come from well managed and sustainable forests run according to strict environmental, socio and economic standards. Our PRINT Sector in Southern Africa is regionalised with Andrew Flack Antalis Director heading up the inland area and Gerry Pypers Antalis Director heading up the Coastal area with Regional Managers in the eight major areas. We also service Botswana and Africa.

The Regional Managers are Michael Rushworth - Gauteng, Kobus Wessels - Gauteng Northern Region which covers Pretoria, Mpumalanga, North West and Limpopo. Craig Stevens - KwaZulu Natal, based in Durban, Trevor Guercio - Free State & Northern Cape, Gerry Pypers acting Regional Manager until further notice and Anthea Van der Schyff Regional Manager - Western Cape, Brandon Stooss - Eastern Cape, Gavin Blamire - Botswana and Mark James heading up Exports into Africa.

This sector services the printing industry in the main for its paper and board requirements in a variety of market segments.  This encompasses printing companies from small operations with limited capacity through large privately owned enterprises to companies listed in the J.S.E.  These companies can be sheet fed operations specialising in the printing of magazines, annual reports, brochures, and advertising material, labels, commercial, educational and packaging. In addition, part of the market serviced is in a continuous format where rolls of paper are converted down to a variety of applications.

Print also has a significant position in supplying paper resellers who operate in the smaller end of the market where paper is traditionally sold in smaller quantities. In the Print Sector paper consultants are used to service the advertising and design industry where paper specification takes place mainly on value added products and is an area where Antalis has dominated for a long period of time. The service requirement in the print market is extremely high with transactions needed to be completed with delivery within 3-4 hours on average.

The quality of distribution and I.T. required to achieve this is extremely high.  Antalis has developed technology in these areas that places it in a distinctly advantageous position in the Paper Merchanting industry.  Growth in this segment is positive with the per capita consumption of paper still extremely low relative to more developed countries.
